Bounded by Colorado Blvd, University, 6th Ave and Cherry Creek Drive, this neighborhood is a luxury enclave featuring upscale new townhomes and mansion-like remodeled bungalows. It's a pedestrian-friendly place to see and be seen, and features popular bars and restaurants. Residents love the adjacent 22-mile Cherry Creek recreational path, world-class shopping and the annual Cherry Creek Arts Festival.

Known for its Cherry Creek North Shopping Center, this Denver neighborhood provides some of the best walkable leisure in the Metro Denver area! However, other parts of Cherry Creek don’t serve up the close-by dining, shopping, and browsing available in Cherry Creek North.

TRANSPORTATION SCORE: 7

The Cherry Creek bike path connects downtown to Cherry Creek and beyond with 22 miles of path to ride. RTD stops present transit opportunities along Speer Blvd. and other frequented streets, though many residential areas of Cherry Creek are a short drive from RTD stops and bike trails.

LOCAL SCORE: 10

A majority of Cherry Creek North’s shops and dining are locally owned establishments. If you’re looking to bite into local fare and browse Denver’s best art, this neighborhood is the one to visit!

CONVENIENCE SCORE: 8

Whole Foods sits front and center at the intersection of 1st and York. If Whole Foods isn’t your thing, visit a King Soopers or Target along Colorado Blvd.

PARKING: HIT AND MISS

Much of Cherry Creek North’s parking is metered or resides in payed lots. There are some free spots in residential areas not far from the heart of the neighborhood’s most popular areas.

VIBE: TAME

Though Cherry Creek isn’t lacking in fantastic bars, people don’t often visit to party. Head to Cherry Creek for nighttime fun for a mellow atmosphere and high-end fare.

THE CHERRY CREEK NEIGHBORHOOD

The Cherry Creek neighborhood of Denver is perfect for the buyer who wants to be able to walk out their front door and be steps from boutique shopping, local dining, and unique art galleries. In many ways, Cherry Creek resembles a city larger than itself as it’s becoming very dense with very little room left to build. This is creating a climbing skyline in the area with many condos available for sale.

CHERRY CREEK'S HOMES

Cherry Creek north offers mostly attached homes dispersed amongst and near the bustling shopping areas (which can make parking difficult at times). Other sections of Cherry Creek provide large single family homes with convenient parking.

THE HISTORY OF CHERRY CREEK

Cherry Creek was named by the Arapaho Indians who found choke cherries down by the creek. The original Cherry Creek Shopping Center was built on the former dump by Denver architect-developer Temple Hoyne Buell in 1949. The redevelopment of the Cherry Creek Shopping Center into the Cherry Creek Mall that you see today was completed in 1990.
